Benefits of Infrared Sauna
Infrared saunas have really gained popularity over the past few years. Obviously it is for a good reason. When we started building our new home in Utah, we knew right away that a sauna would be a must-have addition to our gym. I was sure I’d enjoy it and use it often, but honestly, it’s become an even bigger part of my routine than I expected! There’s nothing quite like ending the day with my hour walk, followed by a good sweat session in the sauna, and then a refreshing shower before bed. It has resulted in the best sleep I’ve ever had.
The infrared saunas have so many health benefits – more than just relaxation! Infrared light mimics the healthy light energy of the sun, but without the harmful UVA and UVB rays. You get all the benefits of being in the sun without the negative effects.
Detoxification is one of the main benefits of the infrared sauna. It helps to eliminate free radicals from your body. While doing this, it also can increase your circulation, help you burn more calories, and improve your blood flow. Some studies have even shown that consistent use of the infrared sauna can help in pain relief and muscle recovery. It has shown to benefit arthritis and sore muscles.
Lastly, research has shown other infrared sauna benefits that include improved sleep, boosted mood, better overall skin appearance, and reduced inflammation. I can personally confirm that I have noticed many of these benefits for myself. As I stated at the beginning, I have never slept better than now because I use the sauna most nights. I can also feel the benefits in muscle recovery after some of my tough workouts.
